In order to get to Mount Rushmore I needed to drive through Wyoming.I'm going to be honest - this wasn't the most scenic drive. Nonetheless, I strongly believe there is beauty in all of Mother Nature's expressions & mediums. The first shot is early in the drive. Then, as you see, the mountains disappear & you have Wyoming...
Where there are trees... I will climb...
It was a foggy eerie-type day - which I loved.
Wyoming is not just full of never-ending prairies and random structures. It's home to a lot of interesting history as well.
And then, I drove around a bend...
...and there was Mount Rushmore.
A cheesy thumbs up for crossing two things off the bucket list on this quick adventure - Mount Rushmore & South Dakota!
Afterwards, I did a quick - & I mean quick - hike in Black Hills National Forest. The entire area that surrounds Mount Rushmore is stunning and I am looking forward to going back to experience more of it. Unfortunately, I just didn't have the time this trip. A snow storm was rolling in and I had a long drive back to Colorado in the Prius.
